HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT

Since its inception in the 1960's, the AMECO-17 system been developed in stages. This has enabled the authors to check and evaluate each new AMECO module or improved feature before the release of a new version.

Due to continual and rapid changes in computer technology, coupled with expertise gained in the extensive usage of AMECO-17, no effort has been spared to keep AMECO-17 in the forefront of structural engineering design. 86 man-years of engineering knowledge, 385,000 Fortran statements later, and over 12,000 projects already designed with AMECO, have assured AMECO its place in the construction marketplace.
