AMECO-17 STEEL provides an environment for designing an entire steel building as a whole 3-D unit subjected to gravity loads, wind and earthquake motions. This capability is available for buildings of any size using steel and composite members and shear walls. Graphical displays of the structure can be obtained.

AMECO-17 STEEL is a multi-cycle design system. As shown in the figure below, the entire analysis-design process is computerized, whereby structural modeling, loading generation, structural analysis and member proportioning are integrated into a continuous, iterative operation. The cycling process is repeated until the minimum cost structure is produced or until the engineer stops the cycling.
