THE AUTHORS

Ameco-17 has been under continuing support and refinement by a team of professional engineers and computer scientists for many years.

A. Palejs, Dr.h.c.ing. is the principal author of Ameco-17. After graduating in Civil Engineering from McGill University, for the next 19 years he worked for Alcan, Bechtel, Kaiser and Parsons, in positions ranging from Design Engineer to Chief Civil Engineer. Then, as the Head of Ameco Systems Consultants, Dr. Palejs designed and optimized many prominent high rise structures in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sydney, Montreal, Niagara Falls and Toronto, for clients such as Olympia & York Developments, Civil & Civic, Marathon, Lavalin, Roche, SNC and many others. In 1986, Dr. Palejs received a special award for excellence in computer aided design from the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering.

Dr. I. Freibergs has 44 years experience in computer science, specializing in applications software research and development. A professor of Computer Science specializing in Software Engineering and a practicing IT consultant, he has participated in the development of large-scale computer applications.

Dr. W. Wright, P. Eng. is the founding chairman of the Computer Applications division for the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering. He has been a Civil Engineering Professor for 20 years and a practicing consultant for 32 years.

Patricia Valenzuela, M.Eng. has 10 years experience in power plant and bridge design and 25 years experience in computer applications in structural engineering and graphics.
