The design results can be as detailed or as concise the engineer desires. The formats of the reports, sign conventions and units are in general compliance with manual design and drafting practice. For example, compression force is positive, member forces and moments are in ft.-kips, displacements and member section dimensions are in inches, member spans and floor areas are in ft., stresses in kips/sq.in. For designs executed in SI units, similar conventions are applied.
